Fundamentals of Photography

About this workshop

You have a beautiful piece of equipment and yet you don’t actually understand what it can and cannot do?

Some shots are really good, but some…. ahem…

And all these buttons? There are so many! And what is with all these settings? They're written in a language you technically understand, yet somehow it turns out you don't speak “Photographian”.

In this workshop, we'll translate photography into plain English.

Most beginner photographers feel this way, mainly because nobody clearly explained how the camera actually "sees" the world.

We'll break down the essential foundations of photography in a simple, practical, and beginner-friendly way. This will transform you from “I have a camera” to “I am in control of my camera every shot of the way!”

You'll learn:

📸 What Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO do (and what they are!)
📸 How these three settings work together to create an image
📸 Why some photos look blurry, too dark, too bright, or lack impact
📸 How to focus your camera on what you want it to focus to
📸 What exposure compensation is; how it can help and when
📸 How to make intentional creative decisions instead of guessing or relying on luck
📸 Composition, the rule of thirds, and what makes an image aesthetically pleasing to the eye

By the end of the workshop, you'll understand not only *what* the settings do, but *why* and *when* to use them.

Great photography doesn't begin with an expensive camera. It begins with understanding the fundamentals of any camera, even the one from the 90”s.

Once you understand how your camera works, everything else becomes easier: composition, focus, light and shadow in your images, and ultimately creating shots that reflect what you saw and felt in the moment.

These are the foundations every photographer needs to build upon. This is where the magic starts.

And this is where you start too.
